Hangloose Adventure – Wild Swimming, Sauna & Floating Deck Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions apply to all participants and visitors using Hangloose Adventure’s Wild Swimming, Sauna, and Floating Deck facilities. By booking, purchasing, or using these services, you agree to comply with the following:

Timings & Session Information

Session times are stated at the time of booking and must be adhered to.
Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your session to allow time for check-in, changing, and getting ready so your activity can start at the booked time.
Late arrivals may result in reduced activity time or loss of booking without refund.
Hangloose Adventure reserves the right to amend session times due to safety, weather, or operational needs.

Age & Weight Restrictions

Minimum age: 18yrs – Under 18’s wishing to cold water swim must hold an ASA L1 Open Water Award and be accompanied by an adult
Please Note: To take part in outdoor swimming you must be able to swim 50m unaided confidently, must wear a tow float in the water, and must wear a wetsuit if the water temperature is under 12°C.
Proof of age may be required.

Health & Fitness Requirements

All participants must be reasonably healthy and fit, and accept that these activities carry physical demands and a small risk of injury, particularly if safety instructions are not followed.

Wild Swimming participants must:

Be able to swim at least 100 metres unaided
Not be under the influence of alcohol or drugs

Hangloose Adventure cannot provide individual medical advice or list all possible medical conditions that may prevent participation. If you have concerns, please consult your doctor before booking.

Even if your doctor has cleared you for the activity, you must inform Hangloose Adventure of any relevant medical conditions before arriving on site.

Pregnant participants may swim with a tow float; however, once pregnancy restricts movement, they must remain within 50 metres of the entry point.

To reduce health risks, participants should avoid ingesting the water and must wash their hands thoroughly afterwards.

Responsibility for monitoring personal health and safety rests entirely with the participant, not Hangloose Adventure.

Clothing & Equipment

Wild Swimming: Appropriate swimwear must be worn. Wetsuits are strongly recommended in cold weather.

Sauna: Swimwear must be worn at all times; towels must be sat on in the Sauna

Floating Deck: No outdoor shoes; barefoot or clean sandals only.

Towels are available to hire or you may bring your own.

Jewellery and valuables should be removed; Hangloose is not responsible for loss or damage.

Memberships

Memberships are valid only for the named individual and are non-transferable.

Expiry dates cannot be extended except in exceptional circumstances at Hangloose’s discretion.

Misuse of membership benefits will result in cancellation without refund.

We offer both annual and monthly memberships for our Wild Swimming programme. Please note that all memberships are non-refundable.

The monthly membership has a minimum commitment of 3 months.
Each month, your membership will automatically renew upon expiration.
If you wish to cancel after your minimum term, you must notify us at least 14 days before your renewal date to ensure your membership does not auto-renew.

Please note: Subscriptions and memberships are excluded from all promotional or concession discounts due to their nature and automatic renewal process

Refunds, Cancellations & Rescheduling

Reschedule with 48 hours notice: Reschedule free of charge.
Reschedule within 48 hour notice: £5 fee unless you are a member
In the event Hangloose cancels due to weather, safety, or operational issues, a reschedule or voucher will be offered.
Refunds will only be issued to the original payment method.

Refunds & On-the-Day Participation

If you arrive at Hangloose Adventure and have not adhered to the Terms & Conditions agreed to at the time of purchase—resulting in you being unable to participate (for example: incorrect clothing, not meeting age or weight requirements)—we will offer you an alternative activity where possible. Refunds will not be given in these circumstances.

Where refunds are approved, they will be processed centrally through our Head Office and will exclude any booking fees from the original transaction. Please allow up to 14 working days for processing. Refunds cannot be issued onsite at any Hangloose Adventure location.

We are unable to provide refunds on vouchers purchased through third parties. In these cases, refunds are subject to the policies of the third party, and you should contact them directly.

Vouchers & Promo Codes

Vouchers are valid until the expiry date stated and cannot be extended.
Promo codes must be entered at the time of booking; they cannot be applied retrospectively.
Only one voucher or promo code may be used per booking unless otherwise stated.
Vouchers and codes have no cash value and are non-transferable.

Unsuitable Conduct

Abusive, aggressive, or unsafe behaviour towards staff, other guests, or the environment will result in immediate removal without refund.
Littering, damage to property, or deliberate disturbance to wildlife is strictly prohibited.
We operate a zero-tolerance policy on alcohol and drugs before or during activities.

Water’s Edge Café Loyalty Cards

One stamp per visit per paying transaction.
Free items cannot be exchanged for cash or alternative products.
Lost, stolen, or damaged cards will not be replaced.
Hangloose reserves the right to amend or withdraw the loyalty scheme at any time.

Weather & Water Conditions

Activities are weather-dependent and may be postponed or rescheduled due to safety concerns such as storms, high winds or extreme temperatures.
The final decision on whether activities proceed rests with Hangloose Adventure, prioritizing participant safety over scheduled times.

Floating Deck Safety Rules

Running, diving, or jumping from the floating deck is prohibited.
No glass or breakable items are allowed on the deck.
Footwear must be barefoot or clean sandals only.

Sauna Etiquette & Safety

Sauna sessions are timed to avoid overheating, with recommended maximum durations of 15–20 minutes per round.
Please sit on a towel for hygiene.
Do not apply lotions, oils, or creams before entering the sauna.
Stay hydrated by drinking water before and after sauna use.

Hygiene & Environmental Protection

Participants should shower before entering wild swimming or sauna areas where facilities allow.
Use of soaps, shampoos, or cosmetics in open water is prohibited.
Please respect local wildlife and natural surroundings; do not disturb plants or animals.

Member Referral Scheme

Swim members are all eligible to earn a free sauna session if they successfully refer a friend who signs up for a membership.

Eligibility:

The referring member must be an active Hangloose Bluewater member who has held their membership for at least one full month at the time of referral.

Referral Requirements:

The referred friend must sign up for a monthly or annual membership at Hangloose Bluewater.
The referred member must clearly name the person who referred them at the time of signing up. Referrals made after registration will not be accepted.

Reward:

Once the referral is verified and confirmed, the referrer will receive one sauna session voucher, valid for one person only.
Vouchers will be sent via email or provided in person after confirmation of the successful referral.
Limitations:
Each successful referral qualifies for one voucher. Multiple referrals may result in multiple vouchers, subject to validation.
This offer cannot be combined with any other promotions unless otherwise stated.

General:

Hangloose Bluewater reserves the right to amend or withdraw this offer at any time without notice.
Misuse of the referral scheme may result in disqualification from the promotion.

By booking or participating, you acknowledge that water-based and heat-based activities carry inherent risks and agree to follow all safety instructions given by Hangloose Adventure staff.
